Freelancer Opportunity: Experienced Fundraiser for Oxford City Farm
**Location:** Remote with occasional visits to Oxford
**Contract:** Fixed-term (January to March 2025) Immediate start required.
**Hours:** 1 day per week
**Fee:** negotiable, dependent on experience. Please indicate day rate in covering letter.
Are you an experienced fundraiser with a passion for supporting community-driven projects? Oxford City Farm is seeking a skilled professional to help secure and build our future, as our primary multi-year funding comes to an end in 2025. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the sustainability and growth of a much-loved local resource.
About Oxford City Farm
Oxford City Farm is a vibrant community hub providing life-enriching activities six days a week for schools, vulnerable adults, families, and a wide range of community groups. Our impact in the past year includes:
- Donating over 1 tonne of fresh produce to the local community.
- Delivering more than 7,000 volunteer hours through 120 regular volunteers.
- Partnering with over 40 organisations to deliver workshops and activities.
- Welcoming thousands of visitors to our site.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to work closely with the Farm Lead to:
- Develop and submit 4–5 strategic funding bids to secure vital resources for our work.
- Build on our proven success in delivering impactful programmes.
- Support the farm’s mission to inspire learning, build community, and promote sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify funding opportunities aligned with the farm’s goals.
- Write high-quality, persuasive funding applications.
- Use key farm data, case studies, and evidence of impact to strengthen bids.
What We’re Looking For:
- A proven track record of securing funding for community-focused initiatives.
- Excellent grant-writing and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating with the Farm Lead.
- Knowledge of the charitable or community agriculture sector (desirable but not essential).
