OX4 Food Crew: Together for Our Community
Oxford City Farm is proud to be a member of the OX4 Food Crew—a partnership of nine incredible organisations working together to manage surplus food, reduce waste, and create projects that empower our community. From donating fresh farm vegetables to co-delivering initiatives like Starting Strong—a maternal nutrition and cooking peer support course —we’re all about ensuring that everyone in OX4 has access to good food, is well-nourished, and can thrive.
The OX4 Food Crew was born at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 when food shortages hit hard. Joining together with partners like Oxford Mutual Aid, Ark-T, Waste 2 Taste, and Syrian Sisters, the group responded swiftly by delivering home-cooked meals to those isolated or in need. What began as emergency relief has grown into a movement to tackle long-term food inequalities, rooted in listening to the lived experiences of our diverse community.
Call to Action: Help Spread Festive Cheer!
This Christmas, we’re asking for your help to ensure everyone in our community can enjoy a festive meal surrounded by friendly faces. Sign up to join help at Flo's Cafe in Florence Park on December 24 to help prepare meals, or on Christmas Day to deliver them. Your time could make a huge difference in making sure no one feels alone or hungry this holiday season.
Interested? Fill in the application form or drop coordinator@ox4foodcrew.co.uk a message to sign up! Together, we can make Christmas truly special for our neighbours.
Know someone that would benefit - share the poster. It's helpful if they can RSVP so we know how many delicious meals to prepare.
Let’s keep building a resilient, connected, and nourished OX4 community.
