About Oxford City Farm:
Oxford City Farm is not just a farm; it's a place where nature meets community, where learning and growing are at the heart of everything we do. Our 2.5-acre working farm, located in East Oxford, is a registered charity dedicated to connecting people of all ages with the wonders of farm life, sustainable food production, and the beauty of nature. Through practical workshops, educational sessions, and volunteering opportunities, we aim to create a vibrant community space that fosters growth, learning, and togetherness.
What We Offer:
When you join Oxford City Farm, you become a part of a friendly and supportive team working in the heart of Oxford. Here's what you can expect:
Training: We provide internal training related to animal husbandry, community farming, and working with young people. Additionally, external training opportunities are available through OCVA.
Pension: You'll be enrolled in the NEST pension scheme, with a 5% contribution from the employer and 3% from the employee.
Annual Leave: Enjoy 33 days of annual leave per year, including bank holidays, pro-rata based on your FTE.
The Role: Fundraising Officer
This new role will support Oxford City Farm to take a more structured and strategic approach to fundraising. You will manage the bid pipeline and prospecting, lead on writing and coordinating funding bids, and work closely with the Farm Lead and Communications and Events Coordinator to grow our community-based fundraising, regular giving and crowdfunding efforts.
The role is ideal for someone with a mix of trust fundraising and community engagement experience, and a passion for local, inclusive, environmentally focused work. You’ll be joining a friendly, collaborative team and contributing to a charity that is deeply rooted in the Oxford community.
Person Specification:
We're looking for someone who possesses the following:
Experience: Proven experience writing successful grant applications is essential. Experience in planning fundraising campaigns, managing donor relationships, or working with CRMs is desirable.
Knowledge: Familiarity with the voluntary sector and strong IT skills, including Google Suite.
Skills and Abilities: You’ll be an excellent communicator with strong storytelling and interpersonal skills. You should be confident managing multiple deadlines, tracking fundraising income, and using digital tools and platforms to engage supporters.
