Our Year in Numbers: A Look Back at 2024

Our Year in Numbers: A Look Back at 2024

We’re a little late sharing this on our website, but earlier this year we took a moment to reflect on everything we achieved together in 2024. From the thousands of people who came through our gates to the kilos of veg we grew and donated, it’s clear that community-powered change is thriving here at Oxford City Farm.

Here’s a snapshot of the year we had:

🌱 8,200 visits to our regular drop-ins
👩‍🌾 8,000+ hours of volunteer time given
🌽 878kg of veg grown and donated
🫶 306 new volunteers signed up
🐐 97 animal care volunteer visits
👨‍👩‍👧 50 Saturday family and community farming days
🥕 50 volunteering sessions and 47 Wednesday wellbeing sessions
🍽️ 1,084 community kitchen sessions – cooking with food grown onsite
🎒 98 school sessions delivered, bringing learning to life
🌳 59 tonnes of CO₂ reduced or sequestered – the equivalent of 982 mature trees working for a whole year
❤️ 25% more produce donated compared to 2023

Behind these numbers are the people who make the farm what it is – the volunteers, staff, supporters, and visitors who bring energy, ideas, and a willingness to get stuck in. Whether you joined us for a day or came every week, thank you.

We also partnered with brilliant local groups like FarmAbility, Parasol Project, AFI UK, IWAW, and the Rose Hill Food Bank to make nature-focused sessions accessible to more people. These partnerships help us make good on our vision: empowered communities learning and working together to grow food locally and live healthy, enriched, and sustainable lives.

As we head into the second half of 2025, we’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited for what’s ahead. If you haven’t already, 👉 have a look at the full Year in Numbers PDF [linked here] and join us in celebrating everything we’ve grown together.
