Twin Baby Goats born on Monday morning
Oxford, UK — Oxford City Farm is delighted to announce the arrival of two baby goats, born on Monday morning at the community-led urban farm in East Oxford.
The twin kids were born healthy at approximately 10:00 am and 10:20 am to one of the farm’s original goats, originally donated by Norton & Yarrow Cheese, the award-winning artisan cheesemakers.
The newborns have already become a source of excitement for volunteers, staff and visitors, marking another joyful moment for the farm’s growing community. Oxford City Farm provides opportunities for people of all ages to connect with food, farming and nature through workshops, volunteering, educational activities and community events.
“It was great timing,” said Bradley Soule, Community Grower at Oxford City Farm. “The kids were born on Monday morning, and later that day we welcomed a new group for our monthly goat milking training. It meant trainees got to meet the farm’s newest arrivals straight away, which is a really special introduction to life on the farm.”
The farm runs regular goat-milking training sessions for members of the public interested in learning more about animal care, small-scale farming, and food production. Details of upcoming sessions are available via Oxford City Farm’s Events page.
Visitors are invited to the farm this Saturday to meet the new arrivals, explore the site and purchase fresh, locally grown produce.
“As a registered charity, Oxford City Farm relies on donations, fundraising, and income from produce and activities to continue delivering its community programmes,” said Nicole Titera, Farm Lead. “Every visit, purchase and donation helps us keep the farm open and accessible to the community.”Supporters wishing to contribute can donate via the farm’s website: www.oxfordcityfarm.org.uk.
