We’re on the WISH team!

We’re delighted to have received funding to join the WISH Partnership, bringing together climate action across the county.

We are immensely thankful for the generous funding provided by the National Lottery Community Fund, enabling our participation in the Cherwell Collective's WISH (Waste Innovation Station) Partnership!

WISH, a Climate Action Partnership, is dedicated to establishing the groundwork for the UK's first truly circular economy. Beginning with a successful pilot phase in Kidlington, which involved outreach efforts and practical solutions aimed at waste reduction through direct redistribution and repurposing, WISH has now secured £1.5 million from the National Lottery Community Fund to expand its initiatives countywide.

Oxford City Farm is proud to be among the more than 30 esteemed partners within this network, which includes notable entities such as Oxford United Football Club, Oxford University Development, Botanic Gardens, and the Natural History Museum. The support provided by the National Lottery Community Fund's Climate Action Fund directly bolsters the endeavors of Cherwell Collective, Good Food Oxfordshire, Community Action Groups, ShareOxford, Thames Valley Environmental Records (TVERC), Wild Oxfordshire, Oxford Food Hub, and ourselves.

Achieving more together

Collaborating under the WISH umbrella, our collective goal is to enhance infrastructure and promote transparency to foster waste reduction and sustainable consumption practices. While our focus remains on the bringing people together to grow, cook and eat locally grown produce, this network unites experts in various domains, including sharing and repairing household items, nature preservation, sustainable food choices, creative waste management, carbon literacy, and more. Together, we aim to paint an inspiring and comprehensive picture of sustainable choices that benefit us all.
