We want to grow our trustee team - recruitment open until 31 July 2023

Would you like to join us? We are a friendly, committed and hands on group of people who work together to ensure the Charity is well governed, meets its legal and financial obligations and continues to grow and develop to meet the needs of the community.

At Oxford City farm being a Trustee is a hands on affair - we work together with staff and in consultation with our volunteers and beneficiaries to set the strategic direction of the Farm, and support a small paid staff team and key volunteers to realise identified objectives

To compliment the current skill set in the current Trustee group we are particularly looking for people who have and experience of working in the following areas:

  • Chair of Trustees – to steer meetings of the trustee board and support/supervise the Farm Lead.

  • Fundraising – to support the farm lead in developing strategy and proposals.

  • Community business – to support the development of our business plan to include a proportion of sustainable income generated through using a community business model.

  • Volunteering – to represent the views of our cohort of committed volunteers.

  • Families and young people – to enable the delivery of projects, opportunities and apprenticeships.

  • Partnerships – to contribute the perspective of other local groups or organisations.

Time, a commitment and a passion for the farm are key, so if you have other skills and experience we would still love to hear from you. We truly want to be representative of our community so whatever your background, if you’re interested please contact us.

  • Time commitment is approx 1 day per month to include monthly Trustee meetings and support of working groups.

  • We are also looking to recruit. The full role description is linked below. We envisage the time commitment for this role will be up to 2 days per month.

Our current Chair of Trustees is also the Farm’s fundraising trustee – and needs to step back from the Chair role to focus on fundraising. She will stay on in both roles until we are able to recruit and alongside other Trustees, and will provide support to any incoming Chair to be successful.
