Covid 19 update

Oxford City Farm – Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Open drop-in sessions suspended until further notice

Due to the ongoing virus outbreak we have decided to suspend all open drop-in sessions until further notice.

However, if you would still like to volunteer at the farm and help us to grow what may be much needed produce for the local community please read the rest of this statement.

How you can continue to help the farm and the local community

In accordance with the most recent government guidelines it was a difficult but sensible decision for us to suspend our open drop-in sessions.  However, there will continue to be important volunteering roles that we would like people to get involved with during this period of suspension.

This is an important time of year at the farm and without the support we receive from the volunteers at our drop-in sessions it will be very difficult for us to continue with our planned planting and harvesting timetable for this year.   For that reason we are looking for a small team of volunteers who, on a regular basis, can help us continue to sow and grow what could prove to be essential produce for local people.

If you usually attend the drop-in sessions and would like to continue to provide that help but in a slightly different way, or if you’re a new volunteer who can help us then please go through the checklist below and if you meet all of the necessary criteria contact us using the email phil@oxfordcityfarm.org.uk and will will send you further information.

In order to join the volunteer team we are recruiting at this time please only contact us if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are aged between 18 and 69
  • You are not in any of the high risk categories for developing complications from COVID-19 infection
  • You are currently fit and well
  • You are prepared to confirm before attending each session that;
    – You do not have any flu like symptoms,
    – You don’t suspect you might have the COVID-19, and
    – You have not been in close proximity to anyone that has the COVID-19

If you can satisfy the above we’d love to hear from you.  email phil@oxfordcityfarm.org.uk

Our aim during this challenging and difficult time is not only to keep
Oxford City Farm functioning and growing but to enhance its capacity to produce even more fresh food for the local community
